Join The Adams River Salmon Society (ARSS), BC Parks, Little Shuswap Lake Indian Band Fisheries, Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO), for their annual Earth Day Event at the Roderick Haig-Brown Park in the Traditional Territory of the Secwepemc Peoples. Earth Day 2018 on Friday April 20th, 2018 based out of the Interpretive Cabin, 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM.

Earth Day walkabout sessions feature information about:    

·        Salmon (Adams River Salmon 4 species), all 5 salmon species, life cycle, fish habitat, riparian connection, monitoring, data collection, Little Shuswap Lake Indian Band Fisheries, Secwepemc Fisheries Technician.

·        BC Parks – Roderick Haig-Brown Prov. Park, Staff, Management + Conservation, 

·        Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) Fisheries and Wild Salmon, SEP program, Streamkeeper training. Adams River Salmon Society, visitors, education, events, economic impacts/tourism.

·        Habitat– types, vegetation, biodiversity, Invasive species, watersheds, Secwepemc Fisheries Commission, Little Shuswap Lake Indian Band Fisheries and ARSS.

Everyone is being advised to bring a Lunch (earth friendly) and juice or water (none on site yet).  Good walking shoes or boots, a coat and a hat or cap, as you will be outside in nature doing walkabouts.  Take out what you take in…  Garbage Bins at Picnic Area. 

 The walkabouts will be approximately 1 hour.
