James grew up in southern Ontario, earning a B.Sc. in Geology and then moved to Alberta to start a career consulting in the Oil and Gas Industry. After a weekend visiting friends in Salmon Arm, he moved to the area and has spent the last 22 years enjoying all the Shuswap has to offer. Deciding a career change was in order, James started a small bookkeeping business in 2018. In January 2020 he joined the STA to fill a temporary position, handling day to day financial matters as the bookkeeper. He continued working with the Trail Alliance when this position became a long-term possibility.
