About

Forest, creek, ponds, and birds on a signature greenway trail connecting McGuire Lake with Little Mountain Park in Salmon Arm. Extend your trip with a start at the Salmon Arm Marine Park or an additional loop on the Little Mountain trails. Please respect private property and stay on the designated trail. 

Beginning at McGuire Lake, take the path around the right (east) side of the lake, use the pedestrian crossing at 10 St SE, then stay right alongside the SAS Jackson Campus. Go through the highway underpass at the Jackson Campus parking lot, then turn left and follow 9 Ave NE to the end of the cul-de-sac where the trail starts again. At the top of the switchbacks, take to the sidewalk and follow 9 Ave NE, until 8 Ave NE. Turn left on 8 Ave NE and continue straight on 20 St NE to the end of the cul-de-sac where the trail starts again at a sidewalk connector. The trail follows Turner Creek up to 6 Ave NE. Follow 6 Ave a short way until it ends, and the trail begins again on the left in the forest along the creek. Cross the next street (24 St NE) to reach Okanagan College and the Recreation Centre. Circle past the front entrance of the College around to the east side and find the trail entering the line of trees right (south) of the Drumming Circle. Travel through to the southeast corner of this little forest and cross 5 Ave NE to find the trail on the other side of the road. Carry on through the forest, following the creek between houses on either side. The trail circles around another pond before climbing through a small cedar forest to 30 St SE, where Okanagan St intersects and the trail ends. 

The west trailhead of Little Mountain Park can be reached from here by crossing 30 St SE and travelling another block and a half to the end of Okanagan St or alternately via Little Mountain Fieldhouse a half block south on 30 St SE.

Access

The lower trailhead officially begins at McGuire Lake in downtown Salmon Arm, but you can start at the Salmon Arm wharf parking area for an extended walk, as well. The upper trailhead can be found just north of the Okanagan Ave./30th St junction. But again you can extend your walk by starting at the Little Mountain Park trailheads or at the Field of Dreams Parking lot on 30th St SE. Neighbourhood connector access points can be found along the length of the trail including the Salmon Arm Recreation Centre and Okanagan College on 24th St NE, and at the Highway 1 Underpass between the Podollan Inn and the Salmon Arm Secondary's Jackson Campus on 6th Ave NE.
