Annual Shuswap Trail Alliance fundraiser continues online for 2025

The Shuswap, Secwépemc Nation Territory, British ColumbiaThe Shuswap Trail Alliance (STA) will once again be hosting its annual fundraiser online February 7-16. Although there won’t be an in-person party in February, keep reading for details of the exciting June 7th event.

The community is invited to join the Shuswap Trail Alliance for the 2025 Shuswap Trails Fundraiser at https://trellis.org/2025-shuswap-trails-fundraiser. Last year’s online event engaged hundreds of people and raised over $45,000 in support of STA trail projects throughout the region.

Just like last year it’s going to be ten days of supporting trails throughout the Shuswap AND supporting our local businesses. The 2025 the online silent auction format will again include enhanced opportunities to feature local businesses, item photographs, and website links to encourage people to support local businesses. There will be a 50/50 raffle, with tickets already available for purchase online at the Trellis site – if all the tickets sell someone could win $10,000!!!

The February fundraiser lays the foundation that allows the Shuswap Trail Alliance to work with regional partners throughout the year. The funds are leveraged with matching grants, donations, in-kind contributions, dedicated community project budgets, and an extraordinary contribution of volunteer time to grow local greenway trails throughout the region.

“February 7th is also the day that ticket sales launch for our Spring Celebration, held on BC Trails Day, on June 07th at the South Canoe Trailhead,” says Jen Bellhouse, Executive Director of the STA. “The June event was such a success last year that the planning committee is looking forward to making it bigger and better this year with 2 bands and expanded capacity. Although we can’t tell you who the bands are just yet, we’re really excited and can’t wait for the big day.”

“This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Shuswap Trail Alliance, and we look forward to celebrating with you at this family friendly event,” says Bellhouse. “The trails within the Shuswap are a success, in large part, due to our municipal and regional partners, the trail volunteers, stewards, and users. The collaboration between governments, organizations, and multiple user groups is something to commemorate and the Shuswap Trail Alliance would like the opportunity to celebrate the trails with the people who make them possible.”

Tickets for the June 7th event can be purchased through Eventbrite, as of February 7th, the link will be available at www.shuswaptrails.com. Don’t miss the early bird rate of $30 for the first 300 tickets, and like last year 18 & under are free to attend.

The Shuswap Trail Alliance auction committee thanks, and invites, everyone throughout the region to join them for the 2025 Online Shuswap Trails Fundraiser. They look forward to seeing you online February 7-16 and in-person at the June event.
