The Shuswap, Secwépemc Nation Territory, British Columbia – The Shuswap Trail Alliance (STA) is celebrating BC trails day, featuring Skinny Leonard and A million Dollars in Pennies, by hosting a family friendly Spring Trails Celebration at the South Canoe trailhead June 06, 4:00pm – 8:00pm.
Early bird ticket sales have been extended until April 15th and are $30. General Admission is $35, youth (13-18) are $10 and 12 & under are free, though they do require pre-registration for the event. Tickets can be purchased by visiting www.shuswaptrails.com and clicking on the Eventbrite link on the homepage.
“Everyone is welcome and we are so excited to be hosting our third annual Spring Trails Celebration, and look forward to sharing this day with our partners, volunteers, stewards, trail users, and more,” says Jen Bellhouse, Executive Director of the STA. “The collaboration between governments, organizations, and multiple user groups is something to commemorate and the Shuswap Trail Alliance would like the opportunity to celebrate the trails with the people who make them possible”.
Skinny Leonard is made up of a collection of music industry veterans with more that 150 years of experience between them. Having performed, toured, recorded, won and been nominated for awards including, Junos, Best vocalist, Best drummer, etc..... Having shared the stage with the likes of Johnny Winter, Otis Rush, Taj Mahal, Colin James, Buddy Miles, Honeymoon Suite, Harlequin, Nazareth, Kim Mitchell, just to name a few, these guys bring the 70s classic rock, the entertainment, experience, musicianship and fun. Skinny Leonard features Chris Gilburg (vocals), Anthony Della Croce (guitar/vocals), Rylan Eamon Wood (drums/percussion), Jay Stevens (bass/vocals), and Michael Schau (guitar/vocals).
Born in the heart of British Columbia’s Shuswap region, opening band a Million Dollars in Pennies is a Canadian folk duo known for their harmony-driven storytelling and high-stakes musical adventures. Composed of partners Mike and Steph Shaver, the band has built a reputation for blending traditional acoustic folk with elements of country, rock, and roots music.
There will be a beverage garden featuring the Barley Station, Shuswap Cider Co., and Sunnybrae Vineyards & Winery. Food trucks include the Yukon Smash, Switchcraft, Van’s Grill, and the Tater Shack along with ShuPops. There will be a sand pit with toys for the kids and booths featuring local organizations. Be sure to bring a chair and a water bottle that you can fill at the H2O4U’s water stations.
