About

A large, busy destination network of over 60 trails built and used by mountain bikers, hikers, snowshoers, fat bikers, and local equestrian riders. A kids’ run bike loop, pump track area, shelter, and picnic sites are easily accessed at the trailhead. The west trailhead to the Larch Hills Traverse (at the Ida View section) is accessed from the South Canoe parking area. The Rubberhead trail system, Larch Hills Nordic trails, and even Sicamous (through the Larch Hills Traverse) are accessible through South Canoe trails. In addition, South Canoe is the home of the very popular Salty Dog 6 Hour Enduro mountain bike race.

ATV and motorcycles use the forestry road during the summer. Watch for trail signs indicating which trails are mountain bike, EQ, or shared. All trails are open to hikers, trail runners, and snowshoers unless marked, but use caution and always watch for bikes and horses.

During the winter, select trails are groomed for fat biking by the Shuswap Cycling Club. Check out the winter grooming report for updates on fat bike trail conditions and best practices etiquette: Winter Grooming Report Fat Biking Best Practices

The South Canoe Trail Advisory meets regularly to help steer the management of the South Canoe Trails.

Please submit trail reports and concerns through our Trail Report
